S eventy-two percent of those surveyed wish they had a better understanding of investment terminology. Women in particular would like a better grasp on financial terms (76% vs. 67% of men).
Our survey suggests that working with a financial advisor can help. Those individuals currently working with a financial advisor (29%) tend to be more confident in selecting the right investments
(76% vs. 55%), and have more money saved for retirement (20% of respondents who work with an advisor said they have saved $250,000 or more vs. 6% of those who do not).
That said, many Americans (63%) are still not sure who to trust for financial advice.
